Residents had been asked to "shelter in place or vacate the area of the 100 and 200 blocks of Regal View and the surrounding area" in Carlisle, North Middleton Township police stated in a release issued shortly before 3 p.m.

Around 4:30 p.m. the alerts were canceled, but no new information was released.

It's now known that the police had been called to "an incident/welfare check," at approximately 1 p.m., and "due to the nature of the call, to ensure safety to residents in the area, residents were asked to stay inside and avoid the area until the incident was resolved," police stated in the updated release issued Monday night.

"Fire Police responded to the area and closed several roads. Additional resources responded including Middlesex Police Department, Carlisle Police Department and the County Special Emergency Response Team," police say.

No injuries were reported.
